Bray South Promenade is a beach in Wicklow. During the bathing season, a lifeguard is on duty. Near the beach, there are toilets and a parking area. Dogs on lead allowed. People with disabilities can access the beach. Dart light rail, Dublin Bus.
Bray South Beach is a shingle beach with clear waters and some seaweed growth. It is sheltered by Bray headland to the south, which is part of the Special Conservation Area. The area is rich in local flora and fauna, and visitors can observe cormorants, porpoises, and dolphins.
Bray Summer Fest takes place on Bray seafront every year during July and August. There is a funfair and daily events including live music, dance & art.
Bray Beach is located in the North of County Wicklow, adjacent to the border of County Dublin. The beach is on the sea front of Bray Town and is a 10-minute walk from Bray Main Street and 2 minutes from Bray Dart Station. The Beach stretches between Bray Head to the South and Bray Harbour to the North. The entire beach is approximately 1500 meters long and is approximately 0.5km2 in area. Bray Beach South makes up the Southern half and is 1000m long and 0.3km2 in area.
The first 20 meters of beach is shingle and steep sloping. Closer to the waters edge, the beach is gently sloping with sand and pebbles. The beach is not overly exposed but can be expected to be rough at times. The seawater is generally clear with some growths of seaweed beyond the surf.
